New fabric!

20 Jan

Very excited to receive my bundles of fabric for a new, top-secret project. They’re all designs by Etsuko Furuya for Echino and purchased from Bolt of Cloth and Kelani Fabrics. Very happy to recommend both these shops- the fabric looks like it did on their websites and the bundles arrived very promptly by mail. The top-secret project will be based upon something from Film in the Fridge but I’m not saying more! (It’s going to be a present, you see…)

Terrible photo but you get the gist!

Second attempt at growing plants in pots

16 Jan

It all started well last year but soon the frosts killed everything. Well, warmer temperatures and warm rain have inspired me to try again. So far, so good!

herbs

Basil, mint, oregano, strawberries, parsely, chives and celery (we meant to get two parsely plants but accidentally bought a celery punnet!)

strawberries

I hope we get some fruit before it gets too cold (can't believe I'm already worrying about the cold and it's only January! Any day now I feel like things could change, such are the joys of living at 1000m)

This weekend is our 12-months-in-Armidale anniversary!

Much more inviting now! (And yes, the Christmas decorations are still up...)

General chaos

And now, a nice, organised and productive place to work and study (well, that's the aim!)

The lawn when we moved in

And the lawn now, thanks to Myles' hard work (but no thanks to the man who comes to "mow" the lawn but instead just poisons it along the fence-line!)

homenow

We are enormously thankful for a home which has been warm, dry, inviting and easy to live in (but especially because it's been warm and easy to heat... very important when it was -13degrees in July!)

For our brothers and sisters in Queensland

Paul KleeWhen trials come no longer fear
For in the pain our God draws near
To fire a faith worth more than gold
And there His faithfulness is told
And there His faithfulness is told

Within the night I know Your peace
The breath of God brings strength to me
And new each morning mercy flows
As treasures of the darkness grow
As treasures of the darkness grow

I turn to Wisdom not my own
For every battle You have known
My confidence will rest in You
Your love endures Your ways are good
Your love endures Your ways are good

When I am weary with the cost
I see the triumph of the cross
So in it’s shadow I shall run
Till He completes the work begun
Till He completes the work begun

One day all things will be made new
I’ll see the hope You called me to
And in your kingdom paved with gold
I’ll praise your faithfulness of old
I’ll praise your faithfulness of old
